- The MIND Center
- Clinical care provided through UMMC's neurosciences department is a valuable resource for the Memory Impairment and Neurodegenerative Dementia (MIND) research center at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
- UMMC and four collaborating U.S. academic medical centers received a $26 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to identify risk factors for Alzheimer's and related forms of cognitive decline.
- The multiyear study, building on clinical data collected from 16,000 participants over 20 years, is expected to give researchers a window on the early physiological changes that may be associated with the later onset of Alzheimer's disease.
